All major induces are still in the bear camp all the while the U.S. Dollar heads higher.

The pull back in commodities pulled back strongly while gold also was affected due to lack of foreseen inflation due to a declining economy.

Interestingly enough, the Internet sector (HHH) is showing early signs of trend reversal, however it is most likely will fail based on the way the markets been acting.

Agricultural (DBA) and Grains (JJG) has generated a potential trend reversal signal.

Shorting NASDAQ (QID) has generated a potential trend reversal, however it is most likely will fail based on recent market action.

Market Review

U.S. Dollar (UUP) has crossed over to potential up trend last week. If the U.S. Dollar does confirm that it will be strong I’m expecting commodities to decline due to a strong dollar. The commodities that are currently positive that will be affected will be Precious Metals (DBP), Silver (SLV) and Platinum (PTM). Gold is not expected to have a direct impact.

Utilities (XLU) is up against upper resistance area of $34 since May 2011. If Markets continue showing weakness, Utilities are expected to continue higher.

BioFuel (FUE) been trending sideways since Dec. 2010 but with a slight up trend mode. However with crude oil (USO) in a down trend mode and if U.S. Dollar becomes stronger it will force crude oil lower, thus the demand for biofuels demand will decrease.

Inverse ETF’s continue to hold firmly without breaking down. Next week may give us a chance to add new positions.

The Markets are still have lower highs in place at this point.

We are in an area that there is strong support underneath and could see a small bounce.

Overall best to be mostly in cash until proven otherwise.

Biofuels (FUE) – Currently still trading in a channel. Would wait for a breakout then a pull back to confirm the trend.

Titanium (TIE) – Been very choppy. Would wait for a pull back to confirm if it can make higher lows.

Global Markets (IOO) – Second time recently it dipped into negative territory.

Home Builders (XHB) – Second time recently it dipped into negative territory.

Brazil, Russia, India, China (EEB) – Dipped back down again, showing continued weakness.

Strangely enough the metals sectors are weak, the alternative energy sectors are all not positive along with the other commodities such as the agriculture, grains, timber and cottons.

Options Expiration is this coming week, so we will be extra careful in taking on any new positions.

Investment: Endo Pharmaceuticals (ENDP)

Health sector has been holding up the last several weeks while the many of the other sectors were entering into bearish zones.

Other than HealthSpring (HS) that been making new 52-week highs just yesterday, we will be adding another healthcare company to our investment portfolio, Endo Pharmaceuticals (ENDP) which has superior company fundamental as does HealthSpring.

We will be placing a 1/3 position to start with at this price level and add another third positions as we get bounces higher. If I’m wrong about ENDP, we will exit out at $36.27 with a manageable 7.4% loss.

Investment: Natural Gas (UNG)

I’ve been following Natural Gas (UNG) for several weeks now since it is making higher lows and broke above its 100-day moving average. UNG has pulled back and appears to be bouncing just below the 100-day moving average which is a good entry for trend following.

At this point we will be placing a one third position to start with at this price level and add one third positions as we get bounces higher. If I’m wrong about UNG, we will exit out at $10.09 with a reasonable 6% loss.

Bear Territory

My trading system finally triggered a buy signal today.

S&P500 Ultra Long 3x (UPRO), consider placing a buy-stop slightly above today’s high of $72.92 and a Sell-stop at $70.29 (risking 3.6%).

The S&P500 (SPY), Nasdaq (QQQ), Dow (DIA), and Global stocks (IOO) are all under the 100-MA line which in my mind’s eye we are in the Bear territory. I don’t expect a strong bounce, so trade with half of what you normally use. Defense is most important when going against the trend in swing trading.

Must admit that the last several days I got my share of lumps in the short term, but that is normal whenever there is a trend change. Once we change our focus on market direction that is when we continue to resume higher in our equity curve to the upside.

HMC bottoming tail today as it reversed quite a bit of the steep losses.

In addition, $34.00 is a MAJOR double bottom support and should be solid.

Possible bounce on HMC between $34.75 and $34.00.

Investment Idea: Gold

Gold (GLD) is once again above the green line on its fourth attempt. We have been smart enough not to be fooled thus far.

If tomorrow GLD can close above $140.40, it would confirm to me that it is ready to head up higher.

So if tomorrow about five minutes before the market closes, if I notice that GLD is above $140.40, I will then add it to my “investment” portfolio.

As a trend hunter, GLD is now in my cross-hairs.

As shown on the chart, the last time it tried to break higher [A] it did not confirm the second day back on March 2^nd and again on the 7^th.

Here we are now back at same area. This could be another fake-out or real breakout move higher.

As always, we will wait to let the Markets tell us what it wants to do.

Buy tomorrow if the stock is above $140.55 [B] before the close of the Markets tomorrow.

Where are the Bulls?

As the Markets crumble all around us, only a few sectors are still hanging in there.

The following are still investment ideas…

Wind Energy (PWND):

Showing early signs of a beginning trend now.

Consider a buy at the dip at $10.25 or next move up at $10.85. Exit at $10.05.

Solar Energy (TAN):

Been in uptrend since early Feb, however it had a steep one month reversal and is now back in an uptrend again.

It is normal to at the early stages of an uptrend to go from uptrend down then up again which shakes out may investors out before reversing upwards.

Consider a buy if it dips to $8.05 or buy next move up at $8.55. Exit at $7.69.

U.S. Oil (USO):

Been on an uptrend since last Nov ($35). For those that may have missed it, we are being presented a new opportunities around these levels.

Consider going in at $40.50, with an exit of $38.40.

Oil & Gas Equip/Services (XES):

Been on an uptrend since last Sept. ($29.20). Less volatile than USO.

Consider going in at $41.50, with an exit of $39.57.

Energy Sector (XLE):

Been on an uptrend since last Oct ($56).

Consolidating at these levels the last 5 days now.

Will consider getting in at a breakout of $77, with an exit of $72.50

Been an uptrend since early Sept. Recently made a lower low with and a higher high. Currently neutral with positive bias. Waiting for tomorrow's results to determine potential entry price.

Telecom (VOX)

Showing short term weakness. Waiting on a confirmation of further weakness or an entry signal.

Oil (USO)

Been on an uptrend since late Sept. It recently made a higher high and also a lower low. Currently neutral with a positive bias. Consider getting in at $39.32 with an exit of $37.17 (risking 5.5%).

Oil & Gas Equipment & Services (XES)

Been on an uptrend since early Sept. Recently had a pull back and resuming uptrend. Consider getting in $37.76 with an exit of $35.31 (risking 6.5%).

Natural Gas (UNG)

Attempting an uptrend a third time and appears to be becoming support to begin an upward trend.

Nuclear Energy (NLR)

Been an uptrend since early Sept. Recently pulled back and resuming uptrend with high volume. Consider getting in at $25.86 with an exit of $29.47 (risking 5.3%).

Wind Energy (PWND)

Been on a down trend since last Oct. and showing early signs of the trend to be reversing. Consider getting in at $10.22 with an exit of $9.58 (risking 6.3%).

Biofuel (FUE)

Been on an uptrend since early July. Recently had a pulled back and resuming uptrend. Consider getting in at $12.04 with an exit of $11.06 (risking 8%).

Global Alternative Energy (GEX)

Making its second attempt to start an uptrend. Consider getting in at $20.87 with an exit of $19.74 (risking 5.4%).

Solar Energy (TAN)

Making another attempt to start an uptrend. Consider getting in at $8.00 with an exit of $7.21 (risking 9.8%).

Precious Metals (DBP)

Showing some early signs of weakness. Too early to consider down trend.

Copper (JJC)

Been on up trend since July. Just recently pulled back and making attempt to go higher. Consider getting in at $59.14 with an exit of $56.58 (risking 4.3%).

Gold (GLD)

Showing some early signs of weakness. Too early to consider a down trend yet.

Platinum (PALL)

Been on an uptrend since early Sept. Just recently pulled back and making an attempt to go higher. Consider getting in at $21.52 with an exit of $20.17 (risking 6.3.%).

Uranium (URA)

Been on an uptrend since late Nov. Consider getting in at $20.91 with an exit of $18.93 (risking 9.5%).

China (FXI)

Showing signs of a new uptrend. Consider getting in at $44.86 with an exit of $43.07 (risking 4%).

As oil continues to go higher as many predict this year, Solar Stocks are starting to trend upwards.

Watching Jinkosolar (JKS) now.

It just broke and holding above its 20/50 EMA line.

It’s a bit over extended and looking for a better entry price close to its 50 EMA line.

However, placing a buy-stop at $27.90 meanwhile in case it continues upward parabolic price movement.

SOL Forming a bottom

Stock Hunters,

Consider getting in at $9.30.

. SOL is a $764 million technology company that engages in the manufacture and sale of solar wafers and solar power products. The long-term chart on SOL looks very solid. The short-term chart was negative and the price was descending until a long-term positive divergence printed on the latest low. This low also had barely broken beneath key price support. The break below support was on lighter than normal volume, however, and SOL was able to reverse higher and recapture that support level. On Thursday of last week, SOL closed back above its 20 day EMA for the first time since early November, and did so on increasing volume, a bullish sign. The action on Monday saw SOL fall back to test its 20 day EMA on lesser volume, actually closing just beneath this key moving average. We'd look for additional strength and a likely 50 day SMA test upcoming. A close beneath $8.00 would be quite bothersome. Otherwise, we expect that a bottom may have printed.

Chelsea Therapeutics Int'l (CHTP)

The Russell's (IWM) is still holding best lately, while the biotech sector (IBB) is in "wait-and-see" mode.

Meanwhile, if we get the needed bounce from both, Chelsea Therapeutics (CHTP) could trending higher again. I like this due to two strong signals to get in even thou the risk is slightly higher then what I typically like to see.

Based on the above sector indicators, we are noticing signals regarding potential trend reversals.

Commodities received the most down grades (precious metals), and several internationals are showing weakness.

The only up grades lately are the two lagers of this market rally Financials and Semiconductors.

Financials (XLF) - Trading in a channel with a small bias toward the upside. We would have to close above $14.78 to even consider placing a small position.

Semiconductors (SMH) - Would consider placing a small position if it can break above $28.80.

Feeling happy that I swapped my leveraged inverse ETF's for leveraged long ETF's two days ago.

May get a flat or slight down day tomorrow. If so, we get a better chance of having an up week next week. We'll let the markets tell us what it wants to do.
